Autumn Term 2026/2027
All children thoroughly enjoyed their first outdoor learning session of the year. For some children it was their first time visiting and exploring the site, for others it was their opportunity to return to outdoor learning and help to show the newcomers around and teach them the rules of these sessions.
As part of our 'All about me' focus the children enjoyed the opportunity to venture out of nursery and create their own life sized outlines, using their mark marking skills to add some lovely features to their chalk version of themselves.
The children enjoyed accessing the creative area to enjoy some free painting. They confidently mixed colours and experimented with lines and shapes to create their own beautiful artwork.
Through the week the children have enjoyed playing with and exploring the pumpkins in the nursery environment. They particularly enjoyed using them in their games in the role play area. As the week continued and the pumpkins had taken a few bumps, conversations moved to what would happen if the pumpkins split open and what might we find inside. This led to us opening up the pumpkins in the tough tray towards the end of the week, where the children were fascinated to discover and explore the seeds.
